Eat Well Live Well
A guide to Healthy Eating
Healthy eating for Adults
In the case of adults, the healthy eating habits should have already been established and maintained with an appropriate diet. Hence, it is recommended to avoid consuming too much alcohol in order to prevent potential addictions and associated diseases, especially problems with liver. The daily diet should include fruit, vegetables, legumes, useful fats, meat, fish, dairy products, and wholegrain products. Moreover, adults need to pay special attention to the need of reducing the daily intake of salt, sugar, and saturated fats to properly maintain their health as they age (Better Health, 2021). Even though vegetables should be included in a daily diet, adults should avoid consuming too much starchy foods, such as potatoes, due to their ability to convert to glucose (WHO, n.d.). Such vegetables should be limited to only one meal a day.
